Michael Jellison, CPA

As a certified public accountant, I have specialized in
helping owners of closely held businesses optimize their
tax profiles, as well as advising them on financial matters
like estate planning.

As a consultant to the banking industry, I have spent the
last 25 years helping banks develop better private bankers
and credit analysts, more quickly. I create courses and
analytical tools that guide your staff to more accurate
financial assessments of wealthy customers like
business owners, successful investors, or partners
in professional associations.

The mission of BankSems, LLC is to enable lenders
grow more effective staff more rapidly, without the
risk that comes with learning the hard way, through
their own experience. BankSems, LLC brings together

my technical knowledge of income tax and financial reporting;

my familiarity with the needs, desires, attitudes, and
preferences of this valued set of customers;

my understanding of the credit analysis needs common to
lending institutions and;

your methods, procedures, forms and models, through
customization
of my course material.

Bankers and analysts who take my training are better able
to engage their wealthy customers, even if they have little
experience with these kinds of clients. And they can efficiently
arrive at a clearer picture of the customer’s true financial status

They can unravel tax-influenced manipulations in
tax returns to build a much more accurate picture
of the customer’s available financial resources (cash flow).

They know the key questions to ask their customers
to identify the best options for the bank and for the customer.

They are more sensitive to tax and estate-planning
concerns of their customers, leading to better relationships
and more rewarding conversations.

They can perform their analysis at the level most
appropriate to the customer and the transaction,
whether that is a snapshot from my No Questions
Asked Cash Flow
, or an in-depth review of their
predictable future sources of cash for repayment of debt.

To ensure quality instruction, I personally design and deliver
all of my courses, whether as seminars, web-based e-courses,
or reference tools and guidelines. In addition to teaching and
consulting with banking institutions, you can find me presenting
at various professional tax and financial conferences, national
private banking conferences, and in videos and on radio programs.

I truly enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with bank
staff around the country, and I’m proud to have helped many
banks serve this market segment both more efficiently and
more effectively. And when I am not on the road serving my
clients, I am happy to be home with my wife Gaylene in
Minneapolis, Minnesota, and frequent trips to the Bahamas
to spend time with my grandchildren.
