Tax Return Analysis: Cash Flow and Beyond

This two-day seminar (also available in e.learning format
quickly brings bankers and analysts up to speed on the
special tax concerns of wealthy business owners, professionals,
and investors, and unveils how those tax issues distort the
financial information they provide to the bank. Participants
learn, first, to understand these customers, and then gain
the technical know-how to unravel tax manipulations to
reveal the true financial health of the borrower or guarantor.
You can see a detailed list of the topics I cover here.

Using my Cash Flow Card analysis tools and realistic case
studies, participants learn what to look for, where to find it,
and what to ask their customers. Your bank gains all the
competitive advantages of more reliable analysis, based
on the best information - what the customers and their
guarantors report to the IRS - as well as an understanding
of the wealthy customer’s priorities that leads directly to
better conversations and additional sales opportunities.

This seminar provides realistic data and practice working
with the client. The “St Michael” case study (or a custom
case study designed, for a fee, especially for your bank)
shows a wealthy couple with an impressive income
derived from a variety of sources. But at first glance, it is
hard to tell if their cash flow is as strong as you would like.

Participants build the answer to that question as I not only
explain how to unravel the tax manipulations, but play the
role of the client. Your bankers and analysts learn where
to look for information, or the lack of it, in the tax returns,
and eavesdrop on the conversations I might have with the
St Michaels as their CPA - including what I would advise
my clients to do when I know the banker isn’t listening!

Who Should Take the Course?
Bankers working with wealthy individual borrowers and
their guarantors: Private Bankers, Premier Bankers,
Wealth Management Professionals, and Commercial
Bankers relying on the personal guaranty of the business
owner will find this course beneficial. Credit analysts
who generate cash flow analyses on these customers
will gain valuable insights into unraveling tax-related
manipulations of financial data to uncover true, reliable
cash flows available for debt repayment. This course
is appropriate for new, inexperienced staff as well as
for more seasoned bankers and analysts.

Pricing and Customization
Basic pricing for the Ready To Go version of Tax
Return Analysis: Cash Flow & Beyond
is $595 per
participant. There is a 20-participant minimum fee -
that is, you will be charged for 20 participants even if,
say, only 15 employees take the seminar - and my
travel expenses will be added to the invoice.

There are many ways to customize the content to
provide faster learning and better retention. For this
course, the most typical customizations are to
incorporate your own personal financial statement,
and your own cash flow model, into the content of
the course.

Custom-built case studies can also focus participant
attention more clearly on the types of wealthy customers
you see most often in your market.Customization fees
are billed one time, when the work is done. That means
that once the custom seminar is developed, I can deliver
it to your employees again and again without additional
customization fees - only the per participant
(and travel) costs will apply.

I cannot provide flat rates for customization, as the
amount of effort involved varies depending on the
degree of customization, the number of components
customized, the lead time available, and so on. The
factors that drive customization rates are described
on the For Greater Impact page.

I suggest you review that page, perhaps look at the
List of Topics page covered in this course, and then
contact me to discuss your best options for customizing
the course content, and the associated costs.

e.learning Option
Your employees can complete the Tax Return Analysis:
Cash Flow & Beyond
course online, from their own desks,
using a web browser. The topics and case study remain
the same as in my Ready To Go version of the seminar,
but content is arranged a little differently, and an online
glossary answers many technical questions that might
come up during the course.

Pricing for the e.learning option is $750 per participant -
no minimum enrollment, and, of course, no travel costs.

Which delivery approach is better for you? Your decision
will be based on your learning objectives, number of participants,
budget, and preferred customizations.

To help you decide which delivery option best meets your
needs, I’ve set up a special page to discuss e.learning or live?
